When to plant snap beans, bush in Texas

Table 8 is statewide and is written as weeks before or after the frost-free date (spring) and the first freeze date (fall). It is not a single calendar date for every Texas city.

Source: Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Texas Home Vegetable Gardening Guide, retrieved 2026-10-10.

What the guide prints

Spring: 1 to 4 weeks after. AgriLife calls the spring reference the frost-free date. This site applies the offset to the NOAA median (50%) last 32°F date because the guide does not name a probability level.

Fall: 8 to 10 weeks before. AgriLife calls the fall reference the first freeze date. This site applies the offset to the NOAA median (50%) first 32°F date because the guide does not name a probability level.

Days to harvest in the same guide: 45-60. Days to harvest from AgriLife Table 9. The table does not say whether the count starts at seeding or transplanting.

Same weeks, different stations

These cities use their own median 32°F dates. The week offsets are unchanged.
